Our History

, Located in Surat, Gujarat, India. It’s services emanate from a long history of
traditional and innovative photographic printing services. Tasveer Kendra was founded by
Mr. Kanti Naik in 1948. Tasveer Kendra is a legendary name in the field of photography in India. With very humble beginnings, he built the foundations of Tasveer with his passion for
photography and endless years of hard work. Tasveer became a household name in Surat.
He is also known for his legendary Documentary on the devastating floods of 1959 in Surat which he made alone with a 16mm Camera. His documentary video clip numerous awards from the
Gujarat Government. Till date his documentary is aired on all the local news channels because it was a benchmark in videography. He has also captured photographs of Prime Minister
Jawaharlal Nehru during his historic visit to Surat. Apart from that he has done lots of
documentaries for the Gujarat Government as an official videographer.

His son Mr. Timir Naik entered the business from a very young age in 1979. He was born with the camera in his hand. He worked his way up into the organisation from the very bottom. He
covered numerous videography and photography orders in entire Western India in the 1980s

and 1990s. He was the first Lab owner to actually be a photographer and videographer himself. He launched Lab services in 1990 with Tasveer Digital Color Lab, started
with Noritsu 901 (AVER). Starting off with a Manual colour lab, he upgraded to Semi-Auto and Auto machines & then to digital machines over the coming years. With
machines like 721, Fuji Monitor Machines 270, 250, 232, Noritsu 2101, etc, he invested his resources in the state of the art machinery and equipment to cater to the

In 2000, anticipating the changing industry with digital technology, Tasveer Digital Color Lab was formed and subsequently our second branch was launched in Adajan,
Surat. It catered to the ever growing population of Surat across the other side of the Tapi River. Tasveer was the first lab in Western India to install the Noritsu 3001
Digital Printing Machine in the year 2003. Consequently, Tasveer introduced the print size of 12x36 inches in the market which is a huge success till date. We followed it
with Noritsu 3201, 3201SD and gradually upgrading to two 3203 machines and an iMetto enlargement machine.

In 2006, it heralded a new beginning for Tasveer with the expansion of our head office premises. With a state of the art showroom, customers now have access to all
Digital Services under one roof. We also started our 'Karishma Album & Binding' Manufacturing Unit which provides the largest & most advanced Wedding Albums,
Catalogues and various different forms of Binding services. We also have the distinction of being the 1st Photo Lab in the entire country to start Album Manufacturing.
This opened a new segment in the Photo Lab Industry and enabled Photo Labs to get additional income and offer even more services.

In 2007, Tasveer Digital Imaging was born as we expanded into CMYK Printing market. We bought a Canon iPF9000 machine which was the first machine in the world to
have RGB as well as CMYK Colour. Jumbo Enlargements from 60 feet wide were introduced to the market with High Definition clarity of 2400dpi. Printing on various
surfaces like Vinyl, Backlit Film, Canvas, etc was possible. With a Xerox DocuColor Machine we started the trend of Offset machines in Photo Labs. After that we upgraded to a Konica Minolta 6501 Machine, Xerox 252, Sienna Machine, Kiss 1515 etc.

After successfully running it for 2 years we aggressively tapped the CYMK Market with the Xerox Digital Press 1000. It enabled us to give the most varieties of photo
products under one roof. We also launched the free Tasveer FTP Service where in customers can send their images and albums to us no matter what the size. Tasveer
Kendra Studio has also expanded its global footprint by undertaking Wedding Photography, Videography, Product Photography, Textile Modelling Shooting, etc. from all
over the world.

Then after 1000 digital press of Xerox in order to compete with the national competitive market. In the year 2012 sept, the company planned for a larger investment
reflecting all the barriers to printing and investing on Xerox IGen 4 where the company got overhead advantage in the printing segment and also to lead the market with a million impression monthly & heading in a monopoly in the local markets.

Now presently, after 4 years of successful printing in the commercial market on Igen4 the company has decided to go further with and additional investment of the
COMMERCIAL DIGITAL PRESS – XEIKON 8500 which will serve the wide range of printing of 20 inch to anything length and stand to compete with the offset presses and
even on the RGB Photo paper segment the company has decided to upgrade It’s Noritsu 3202 to 3411 for higher production.

In today, We became complete printing solution provider. We service customers from around the world with varying imaging needs. Because of our small beginnings, we have been able to incorporate our special attention and premium customer service to all of our customers.
